Senior Engineer, Mechanical

We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.

Role Purpose

To independently determine and prepare the Requisitions for packages of mechanical components and / or equipment that are required in a project, assists in evaluating the technical aspects of bids and executing in order to deliver the packages on time and to ensure that the packages meet the technical requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Technical requirements-Understands the specifications and requirements in the area of mechanical rotating equipment (such as Cetrifugal Pumps, Postive Displacement pumps, Air and utilty compressor, steam/gas turbines,etc.,) of the assigned package. - Responsible with minimum guidance for Mechanical Design and selection of Rotating equipment in compliance with applicable International codes ASME, API etc.,

Engineering document preparationIndependently develops technical specifications/standards and Requisitions for rotating equipment such as Cetrifugal Pumps, Postive Displacement pumps, Air and utilty compressor, steam/gas turbines,etc

Supplier selectionIndependently evaluates the technical aspects of bids received from suppliers and concludes assessment to the bide. Generally, less complex packages and middle risk equipment are assigned.

Supplier managementAssists in placing and executing the orders. After orders, independently reviews Supplier documents (such as data sheets, drawings) for their completeness, accuracy and compliance. Being the focal point, liaises and coordinates with various stakesholders.

Support for other disciplineProvides technical/engineering support/visit and advice for quality work at supplier shop and Construction/Commissioning work at site

Technical issue resolutionIndependently resolves technical issues using expert knowledge and technical know-how that may arise during the execution of package engineering, fabrication and post delivery.

Compliance with HSSEQ policiesTo ensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations and demonstrates high standard of ethical behaviour.

Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in Mechanical engineering in oil and gas sector, preferable experience in FPSO, off-shore application
- Possess relevant experience working on EPC projects
- Shall be conversant with design standards and International Industry Codes such as ASME, API, NACE, etc.
