Summary of Job Duties:

The School of Art in the Fulbright College of the University of Arkansas invites applications for the Assistant Director of Scholarships and Student Success, to begin in September 2026. This is a permanent appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory performance.

The Assistant Director of Scholarships and Student Success provides strategic leadership in the administration and advancement of the School of Art's scholarship programs, leveraging scholarship resources to recruit, retain, and support student success. This position develops and implements scholarship strategies that align with the school's enrollment and student success goals while ensuring equitable, efficient, and compliant administration of scholarship funds. They will launch award processes, track applications, enter and track scholarship awards, manage associated student travel, and monitor and reconcile scholarship accounts, ensuring accuracy of disbursements.
Working collaboratively with School of Art leadership, staff, faculty, Fulbright College, and university partners, this position also assists in the management of scholarship budgets and financial reconciliation, monitors compliance with university, state, federal, and donor requirements, and evaluates scholarship effectiveness through data analysis and assessment.

The Assistant Director serves as the School of Art's primary resource on scholarship programs, utilizing data to inform strategic decisions, improve processes, strengthen student retention, and maximize the impact of scholarship investments. This position also collaborates on recruitment initiatives, student communications, reporting, and outreach efforts that enhance access to educational opportunities and contribute to student achievement, in addition, to all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education​

  • Experience in accounting, fiscal transactions, tracking, and/or financial records

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience working in a higher education, specifically at the University of Arkansas

  • Experience in Workday and/or Workday Student

  • Experience working with state and federal financial aid regulations


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAS):

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, specifically in Excel

  • Ability to represent the University of Arkansas School of Art with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to meet and manage deadlines

  • Ability to learn the scholarship and financial aid requirements as they relate to student awards at the university, state, endowed, and federal levels

  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain confidential information

  • Ability in designing and using financial spreadsheets and databases

  • Ability to develop strategy and initiatives around a program goal

  • Ability to form excellent collaborative internal and external partners

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service


Additional Information:

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.


Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience. minimum $56,123
