Job Summary
The Test Technician I supports the testing, validation, qualification, troubleshooting, and evaluation of cable assemblies and other assemblies within the Product Solutions Department. Performs laboratory and product testing activities, documents and analyzes test results, assists with product evaluations, and supports technical investigations to help ensure products and solutions meet quality, performance, safety, reliability, and customer requirements. Reporting to the Manager of Hardware Solutions, the Test Technician I collaborates with Product Solutions, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to execute testing protocols, maintain laboratory equipment, support customer solution development activities, and contribute to the successful delivery of hardware-based solutions.
Responsibilities
Performs Electrical, Mechanical and Environmental testing of cable assemblies in accordance with established procedures.- Creates accurate written technical reports and test records based on test results
- Maintains lab equipment, supplies, performs laboratory House keeping tasks, ensures equipment is calibrated
- Assists & collaborates with Quality, Engineering and Production on quality, manufacturing, cost reduction issues related to cable assemblies.
- Maintains compliance with applicable safety requirements, quality standards, testing procedures, and company policies.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, innovation, and customer focus through active participation in team and departmental initiatives.
- Construction of test fixtures
- Construction of Control Cabinet prototypes
- Occasional production work in various production areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology.- 1-3 years of experience in electronics testing, manufacturing, quality preferred.
Experience in electronics manufacturing environments- Familiarity with wire harness standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Experience or knowledge of Crimp Analysis, performing and analyzing cross sections, pull testing and IP testing
- Experience or knowledge of electrical testing such as contact resistance, hipot testing, high frequency testing
- Proficiency with using hand tools to create fixtures or control cabinets
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to safely use electrical and electronic testing equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- This is a 100% in office role.
