WORK HOURS: M-F, 8-5p / 9-6p (Friday WFH)

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Sublimation Artist is responsible for preparing accurate, production-ready artwork for sublimated garments. This role translates approved design concepts into print-ready files, ensuring adherence to established standards for color, sizing, pattern placement, grading, garment construction, and production specifications. Working closely with Design, Product Development, and Manufacturing partners, the Sublimation Artist resolves technical artwork issues and supports quality, speed, and on-time production. 

 

In addition to day-to-day artwork preparation, the Sublimation Artist participates in assigned process-improvement, template-standardization, product-development, and production-readiness projects that improve team efficiency, file quality, and production consistency. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Prepare, review, and finalize sublimation artwork files for production, including file setup, pattern and grading alignment, color and placement verification, version control, and adherence to established production standards. 

  • Review artwork and prototypes to ensure alignment with the approved creative brief and technical feasibility for sublimation production; identify and communicate artwork, placement, color, or construction issues requiring resolution. 

  • Use Adobe Illustrator to create and modify vector artwork, build production-ready files, and maintain file accuracy in accordance with established design, print, and production specifications. 

  • Manage multiple artwork requests and production priorities, communicate project status and potential risks proactively, and meet established turnaround times and production deadlines. 

  • Collaborate with designers, pattern makers, engineers, product managers, and manufacturing partners to resolve artwork, placement, color, and production-feasibility issues during prototype development and production. 

  • Apply working knowledge of sublimation printing processes, color management, garment construction, fabric characteristics, inks, pattern layouts, and production limitations to produce consistent, high-quality artwork. 

  • Participate in assigned process-improvement, template-standardization, product-development, and production-readiness projects that improve team efficiency, file quality, and production consistency. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required, including vector artwork development and production-file preparation. Proficiency with standard business applications is preferred. 

  • Working knowledge of sublimation printing processes, color management, garment construction, pattern layouts, and production limitations. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot artwork challenges, evaluate technical feasibility, and develop accurate, production-ready artwork. 

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. 

  • Serve as a technical resource to artists and cross-functional partners by sharing established artwork standards, identifying technical considerations, and escalating complex issues when appropriate. 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Graphic Design, Apparel Design, Digital Media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Relevant experience in production art, sublimation artwork, apparel graphics, print production, or a related technical design field.  

  • Experience preparing production-ready vector artwork for apparel or textile printing, including file setup, color management, placement, and pattern or panel alignment, is preferred.  

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; experience working with sublimation printing processes, garment construction, and production specifications is strongly preferred. 

 

Physical Demands and/or Work Environment 

This role operates in a hybrid office/remote environment, with primary responsibilities performed using a company-provided computer. The role requires regular use of a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, as well as the ability to work onsite as needed for sample reviews, production collaboration, team meetings, or business needs.
