Summary
The General Manager empowers the club team to execute acac’s mission of ensuring members have a great fitness experience. The position leads department directors and is responsible for the overall operational and financial success of the club. The General Manager embraces acac’s mission and provides leadership and vision for the entire club operations.
Top Five Responsibilities
- Achieve annual growth and profitability plans that are aligned with acac’s mission and vision
- Support club team through effective communication and recognition, building a culture that encourages teamwork and a sense of urgency
- Accountable for club’s financial performance, explaining monthly variances and ensuring overall accountability for the operating budget
- Continually evaluate member experience, identifying programs and processes that will drive continuous improvement and opportunities to exceed expectations
- Ensure facility operates with a keen attention for the safety of all team members and membership at large
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role, including supervising and leading multiple teams simultaneously
- Prior experience managing a Group Exercise Program at a multiple-facility health club
- Experience as a Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer is a plus
- Proven ability to manage expenses to an operating budget, including financial analysis

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to problem solve and remain collaborative when addressing any customer service situations
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to handle multiple concurrent projects and assignments.

Education
- 4-year degree preferred
- CPR/AED certification
Physical demands
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, and bend throughout a shift

- Park in team member designated areas
- Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
- Attend mandatory Personal Training meetings
- Assist with Service Days, as assigned by Supervisor
- Assist with club programs, special events, or activities, as assigned by Supervisor
- Promptly respond to work-related correspondence
- Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
- Deliver outstanding service to members and guests, following acac’s Five*Star principles
