In this position...
The VISE Technician will work with test engineers to support the company's product testing needs. You will be required to become proficient in Breadboard, Hardware in the Loop (HiL) lab vehicle fabrication and part installation, equipment/instrumentation connection, and proper functional verification of test set-ups. You will work with the test engineers to review test setups and investigate breadboard/HiL issues. You will be responsible for supporting the VISE Lab, and functional partners. These positions will range from a Ford Salary Grade 4-5
What you'll do...
- Execute VISE breadboard and HiL lab vehicle fabrication/assembly.
- Prepare and setup test articles in accordance vehicle wiring schematics, wiring diagrams, or 2D layouts, adhering to established standards and procedures.
- Install instrumentation, control systems and test solutions on test properties to support test requirements.
- Conduct wire harness overlays and repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot breadboard or lab vehicle issues as needed.
- Update build status and key events in the ELMS Laboratory Management System
- Assist other technicians in day-to-day execution and facility support functions
- Manage and maintain lab equipment inventory, installation, and usage
- Maintain and verify calibration and maintenance of test equipment and test systems
- Adhere to all Lab Procedures; suggest process improvements when needed
- Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety, and ISO documented procedures

This position is a salary grade 4 and ranges from $56,400-$94,900
This position is a salary grade 5 and ranges from $65,100-$109,300
This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500
This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

- Two-year associate's degree or experience in a technically related field.
- An understanding of vehicle powertrain, feature, and electrical system operation, with an emphasis on the proper operation of vehicle safety-related features (e.g., adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, etc.).
- A working knowledge of electrical test equipment and circuit fabrication (pinning and de-pinning automotive connectors).
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronics instrumentation, including thermocouples, loadcells and pressure transducers.
- Experience with automotive CAN communication tools (e.g., DET tool, CANalyzer, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, taking directions from multiple sources as needed.
- Basic MS Office skills in Word and Excel required.
- Fabrication skills are a strong plus.
- Able to lift 50 lbs., work inside, crawl under, and maneuver around test vehicle setups.
- Ability to support off shift and weekend work periodically to accommodate workload.
