In this position...
This is a position for an Environmental HW Test Engineer. In this position, you will be working in a team responsible for the definition, design, and implementation of HW functional test systems used to validate performance of Fords next generation electronic control modules during environmental testing. The successful candidate will be working with the design team to ensure that the test solutions deliver the highest product quality, meet the needs of future electronic modules, and achieve best in class cost of test.
What you'll do...
- Define hardware functional test requirements for environmental testing of future electronic control modules by:
- Breaking down product features into efficient and reliable functional test methods
- Performing test coverage analysis to assess test method efficiency
- Define, design, and build test systems/fixtures for both pre/post performance evaluation, and powered monitoring used in the execution of environmental test suites
- Validation and qualification of test system design through Gage R&R and negative samples
- Work with vendors to outsource the design of the test system if required
- Build project plans and timelines
- Issue tracking, investigation and resolution of module test failures or deficiencies in yield or test coverage on new and existing modules
- Find opportunities for improvement and drive implementation to improve quality, reduce test time, and increase yield
- Interface closely with other teams such as Software, Mechanical, Product Design and with external suppliers

- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

- Experience in functional test system design for Audio, Power, Conducted RF and Radiated RF testing of 2G/3G/4G/5G/Wi-Fi/BT/GPS, CAN/LIN, Displays and Cameras
- Experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and precision power meters
- Solid understanding of industry standard interfaces such LVDS, DDR, PCI, I2C, and Ethernet
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Motivated and self-starter
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment
- Experience working with TestStand, Jira, and Wikis Experience with Statistical Analysis methods

This position is a salary grades 5-7 and ranges from $65,100-$144,900.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
