Job Summary
The role is responsible for end‑to‑end performance and power maturity of assigned Data Center SSD programs. The candidate owns execution quality, technical depth, and cross‑functional alignment to ensure performance and power targets are met with high confidence from early bring‑up through customer qualification. The role combines strong technical execution, data‑driven decision making, and program‑level leadership across firmware, architecture and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Program Ownership & Execution
- Own end‑to‑end performance and power readiness for assigned programs, from early FW maturity through customer qualification.
- Ensure the delivery of high‑quality performance and power data aligned with program goals.
- Drive Program Status Updates for performance and power to Product Development team and other stakeholders.
Technical Depth & Debug
- Perform in‑depth performance analysis and root‑cause debug, developing strong understanding of firmware behaviors, state machines, and hardware interactions.
- Identify performance risks early and work with FW, Arch, and System teams to drive mitigations.
- Represent performance perspective in Product Change Request scoping and lead change implementation on the program.
Planning & Infrastructure
- Plan and forecast infrastructure and development needs required to support program execution.
- Ensure appropriate performance test levels are applied per program phase and customer requirements to ensure optimal path to performance maturity.
Artificial Intelligence
- Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Multi-functional Leadership
- Actively collaborate with Firmware, Architecture, Systems, QA, and PDT to deliver optimized performance and power.
- Drive process alignment at the program site with the overall DC SSD Performance Test Strategy.
- Participate in internal engineering forums, sharing standard processes and aligning execution across geographies
Continuous Improvement
- Identify gaps in performance methods, coverage, or tooling and propose improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in SSD performance and power characterization.
- Hands‑on experience with data analysis, workload execution, and performance debug.
- Solid understanding of firmware–hardware interactions affecting latency, bandwidth, and power.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to internal and external partners.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes
