Description
- Responsible for reviewing purchase order requests and determining appropriate vendors and monitoring new vendors.
- Responsible for requesting quotes.
- Responsible for entering and placing Purchase orders, purchasing supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery.
- Monitor the status of Purchase Orders and follow up on past due orders to help ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Deals with supplier when serious variations arise in delivery, quality, price or conditions of sale.
- Responsible for filing all purchase orders for future reference.
- Coordinating and tracking status of large projects separately from the standard orders.
- Attend quarterly Supplier/Purchasing Review meetings.
- Special projects as determined by the Plant Manager.
Requirements
- Education: Associates degree or 2 years' experience in purchasing related field.
- Skills: Excel, Word, Windows & basic computer knowledge desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Basic mathematical skills required.
- Experience: 2-4 years' experience in purchasing or buying related field.
- Other: Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with vendors.
