About PwC SATIC and the role
The Personal Independence Manager leads the team responsible for reviewing personal financial interests of UK partners and directors, ensuring compliance with independence requirements. The Manager drives team development, quality assurance, and process improvement, and is a key contributor to SATIC-wide initiatives.
Summary:
The Personal Independence Manager is accountable for leading and developing the independence review team, ensuring high standards of compliance and operational excellence. This role includes onboarding new team members, planning and monitoring their route to competency, managing team leave and performance, and serving as the primary liaison with UK stakeholders. The Manager implements quality control protocols, oversees complex reviews, and drives process improvements—including ISO9001 certification. The role also involves active participation in SATIC projects, such as the Business Services Junior Manco.
Qualifications / Certifications required:
University degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Law,
Business, or a related field.
Experience required:
- Experience in a compliance, risk management, audit, or regulatory review role, ideally with exposure to personal independence reviews.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Prior use of compliance systems (e.g., Checkpoint) and virtual collaboration across geographies is beneficial.
- Experience leading teams, including onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Track record of implementing quality control protocols and process improvements.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships, especially with international teams.
- Involvement in cross-functional or strategic projects (e.g., SATIC initiatives).
- Familiarity with ISO9001 certification processes is an advantage.
Responsibilities of role:
- Lead, coach, and develop the Personal Independence team, including onboarding and competency planning for new members.
- Manage team leave requests, monitor performance, and address performance issues.
- Oversee and review complex independence submissions, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Implement and monitor quality control protocols for all team outputs.
- Serve as the focal point for stakeholder management with the UK Independence team.
- Drive process improvements and suggest enhancements to independence review procedures.
- Lead the implementation of ISO9001 certification within the team.
- Participate in SATIC projects, including the Business Services Junior Manco and other strategic initiatives.
- Allocate cases, monitor workflow, and ensure timely completion of reviews.
- Provide guidance and support for stretch projects and regulatory updates.
