Description
Provides video production support for city leadership and departments and programming for the city’s social media channels and cable tv station. Other job duties as apparent or assigned.
- Owns original programming from concept to execution
- Collaborates with team members to create show and video concepts.
- Shoots, edits, and produces videos for marketing and storytelling purposes.
- Works with Department management to analyze audiences and determine program objectives.
- Coordinates details of ?eld and/or studio production, including multi-camera ?eld productions.
- Delivers projects ahead of or by deadlines and within budget.
- Evaluates program results and makes recommendations based on those results and industry trends
- Evaluates equipment needs and makes recommendations based on industry standards.
- Documents and maintains processes, procedures and policies related within scope.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of planning, design and preparation of video materials and equipment; general knowledge of the terminology, methods, practices and techniques of telecommunications; general knowledge of methods of video production; ability to be creative and innovative in programming, technical and artistic endeavors in dealing with a target audience; ability to understand and work from oral and written instructions; ability to shoot and edit video programs on a wide variety of subjects; skill in the use of professional-grade digital video production and editing equipment, ability to trouble- shoot technical challenges related to audio or video problems during ?eld productions, ability to assist other city departments with the use of audio and video equipment; working knowledge of social media content and trends and best practices on platforms; working knowledge of creative and production software; working knowledge of project management tools. Job requires some weekend and evening work hours and area travel.
Education and Experience
At least three years of experience as a producer, videographer or director of photography. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in film, marketing or a related ?eld; experience with creating social media content, films, short films, commercials, marketing and promotional videos; minimum of three years of recent digital video production experience in commercial or industrial; experience with non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere CC preferred); social media, lighting and audio knowledge. Experience in directing multi-camera studio, ?eld productions and screenwriting and working at an advertising agency is a plus.
