Job Summary**
The Project Site Engineering Senior Professional at Hitachi, Ltd. will lead and manage on-site engineering activities for complex projects, ensuring successful execution from planning to completion while adhering to quality, safety, and budget standards.
Job Responsibilities**
* Oversee and direct all on-site engineering operations, including installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and equipment.
* Develop and implement project-specific engineering plans, schedules, and resource allocations in coordination with project managers and other stakeholders.
* Manage and mentor a team of site engineers, technicians, and contractors, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during project execution, collaborating with design teams and suppliers as needed.
* Prepare and present detailed progress reports, technical documentation, and project close-out reports to management and clients.
* Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on site.
* Ensure efficient utilization of materials, tools, and equipment on site, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing waste.
* Participate in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and success.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in site engineering and project management within a relevant industry (e.g., power generation, infrastructure, railway systems, industrial automation).
* Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects on site.
* Strong knowledge of relevant engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
* Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
* Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site for extended periods.
* Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant local languages is a plus.
