About Us:
Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. We bring that vision to life through our values and culture.
Digital Marketing Strategy & Operations
Right along with Target’s distinctive retail brand, we are constantly improving and innovating our digital shopping experience. We’re in an exciting moment for Target’s digital business. Guest expectations keep evolving, and so do we — constantly reimagining the shopping journey across our platforms - including Target.com and the store network’s fulfilment capabilities. Here, you’ll collaborate to create and implement the digital strategies that enrich the online experience through the right mix of personalization, simplicity and intuitiveness.
The Site Merchandising team helps grow Target’s digital business by making it easier for guests to find, understand and buy products across Target.com and the Target app. Within Target India (TII), this role builds the operations Center of Excellence that helps teams deliver digital work with greater speed, quality and consistency.
As Director, Digital Marketing Strategy & Operations – Site Merchandising, you will set the direction for a strong digital operations COE that improves guest experience at scale. You will guide the leaders of Digital Operations, Product Content, Digital Marketing Strategy, Project Management and QA to work as one connected system, using guest signals, business priorities and operational data to shape better digital actions. Based in Bangalore, you will partner with the U.S. Site Experience leadership and global teams to remove barriers, improve speed-to-site, strengthen content and execution quality, and make the digital shopping experience simpler and more reliable for guests.
Core Responsibilities:
Digital Experience Operations & Scale Leadership
- Partner across Global leadership team to set the vision and operating principles for the digital operations COE, ensuring the work is simple, scalable and focused on guest experience outcomes.
- Build the COE model across Digital Operations, Product Content, Digital Marketing Strategy, Project Management and QA, with clear standards, intake, prioritization, SLAs, decision rights and escalation paths.
- Use operating measures such as speed-to-site, content readiness, campaign readiness, quality, defects and capacity to guide trade-offs and leadership decisions.
- Create leadership routines that give teams visibility to priorities, risks, ownership, launch readiness and opportunities to improve guest experience.
- Own the COE transformation roadmap, using standardization, automation, tooling and process redesign to improve speed, quality, consistency and scale across operations, QA and content workflows.
- Build maturity across the COE by improving partnership between capability leaders, strengthening repeatable ways of working and scaling practices that make digital execution more consistent.
- Pilot AI and automation opportunities that improve content creation, QA validation, intake, workflow visibility and repeatable execution across the COE.
Guest Experience, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy
- Translate key events, promotions, category priorities and guest signals into clear actions across marketing placements, product content, purchasability and post-launch improvements.
- Use guest experience inputs — including behavioral data, OSAT, Contacts CPO, returns, guest reviews and post-purchase signals — to identify friction, prioritize fixes and improve product and site experiences.
- Strengthen Product Content as a strategic Site Merchandising capability, improving PDP completeness, item readiness, attribution, taxonomy, imagery, copy and decision-useful information for guests.
- Strengthen QA, operational readiness and issue resolution so teams can protect guest experience and improve execution across all five pyramids.
Team Development & Leadership
- Lead through capability leaders, building a connected team that can make clear decisions, solve problems quickly and improve guest outcomes.
- Set clear expectations, coaching routines and growth opportunities that help leaders build strong operating judgment, guest focus and cross-functional influence.
- Build a COE culture focused on ownership, simple ways of working, continuous improvement and accountability for better guest experience outcomes.
Cross-Functional & Global Engagement
- Align Item, Product, UX, T+, Marketing, Merchandising Operations and TII teams on the priorities and decisions needed to scale digital work and improve guest experience.
- Serve as a senior connection point between Bangalore and the U.S. Site Experience leadership, ensuring priorities, risks, escalations and decisions are clear and connected.
- Remove systemic barriers by securing partner commitments, clarifying ownership and keeping teams focused on speed, quality and scale to elevate guest experience.
