JOB SUMMARY
The Safety & HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to both the Human Resources and Safety functions. This position helps maintain employee records, coordinate HR activities, support workplace safety programs, track training and certifications, and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, approachable, and able to handle confidential employee information while maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HUMAN RESOURCES
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee training records and certifications.
• Assist employees and supervisors with routine HR questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR representative.
• Support employee engagement activities and company events.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other HR documents.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
SAFETY
• Maintain safety records, certifications, licenses, inspection reports, incident documentation, and training records.
• Help track and record employee safety training, orientations, and refresher courses.
• Assist in preparing safety communications, and employee safety materials.
• Support compliance with applicable OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Promotes a positive safety culture by developing relationships while encouraging employees to follow established safety procedures and policies.
Requirements
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices.
- Experience with HRIS or employee management systems.
- Experience maintaining safety documentation and incident reports.
- First Aid/CPR AED, OSHA, or other safety-related training or certifications.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, warehousing, healthcare, or another safety-sensitive environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
· High school diploma or equivalent required;
· 1–2 years of experience in HR, safety, administration, or a related environment preferred.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar software.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
· Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
