Role Purpose

As Manager, Procurement, you will own category strategy and strategic sourcing for one of the most complex procurement programs in sport. In the years leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, you will shape how LA28 buys the goods and services that bring the Games to life — building category plans from the ground up, running competitive sourcing events, and turning supply chain data into decisions. You will partner across the organization to meet demand responsibly, control cost, and safeguard delivery, creating a procurement foundation that stands up to the demands of Games time.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies grounded in market analysis, internal demand signals, and supplier capabilities.

·       Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, across your assigned categories.

·       Analyze supply chain data to surface trends, track key performance indicators, and target cost savings and process improvements.

·       Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to understand procurement needs and provide expert, hands-on sourcing guidance.

·       Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to protect the successful, on-time delivery of the Games.

 

Required Competencies

·       A Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or a closely related field is required for this role.

·       5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management on complex, deadline-driven programs.

·       Proven experience in supply chain data analysis, with the ability to translate complex, high-volume data sets into clear, actionable insights.

·       Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and contract management skills, applied across a broad and diverse supplier base.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building trusted relationships at every level to shape and facilitate business outcomes.

 

Valued Experience

·       Professional certification such as CPSM or CSCP.

·       Experience with enterprise procurement systems, ERP platforms, and data visualization tools.

·       Background in the sports, events, or entertainment industry.

·       Skill in influencing multiple stakeholders and suppliers across concurrent sourcing events.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

·       Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

·       The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

·       The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.

·       Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

·       Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

 

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00- $115,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
