One Permanent Full-Time Position.

The Trade Control Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of daily trading operations within the Middle Office under the Commodity Risk Management framework. This role performs deal validation and confirmations, maintains exception and compliance reporting, and validates critical data for settlement and risk purposes. The analyst executes and contributes to developing robust trading and risk controls, supports audit inquiries, and ensures all trading activities adhere to risk policies, delegation of authorities, and internal limits. Additionally, the Trade Control Analyst ensures all deals are accurately captured in the ETRM system and that workflows are configured to support validations, confirmations, amendments, and settlements.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of risk management, ETRM systems and AI tools, and to gain exposure to a diverse range of commodity supply and trading activities.

You will contribute to our team by:

  • Deal validation: Oversee new deal checkout process each day and validate the accuracy of transactions in the ETRM.
  • Confirmations: Confirm bilateral transactions. Review incoming confirmations and compare transaction details to ETRM for discrepancies. Prepare and send confirmations to counterparties in a timely manner.
  • Exception reporting: Maintain a centralized audit log to track all late deal entries, deal amendments, missing price data, and other data management requirements to support trade compliance exception reporting. Produce internal trade compliance exception reports to ensure visibility and transparency into process and control effectiveness.
  • Data validation: Ensure completeness and accuracy of the data in our systems of record - this includes sourcing and validating actual data as needed for settlement and invoicing purposes. Perform periodic and independent validation of calculations or data relied upon for risk reporting or risk quantification purposes.
  • Trading and risk controls: Develop, maintain, and execute relevant Middle Office and Risk controls.
  • Audit inquiries: As needed, support internal and external audit inquiries related to trading, hedging, and risk management activities.
  • Monitoring: Ensure that all strategies and transactions executed are authorized by the risk policy. Ensure that all transactions and exposures are consistent with the organization’s delegation of authorities and within internal limits.
  • ETRM system: Ensure that all proposed and existing deals can be accurately captured in the ETRM system.
  • Workflow configuration: Ensure all workflows for new and existing deals are configured to support validations, confirmations, amendments, and settlements.
  • Drive automation, including enabling the use of AI in core processes.
  • Support various operational efficiency, process improvement, and analytical projects.
