ABOUT THE JOB
The Director, People Partner leads Marathon Health's People Partner function and ensures our people strategy supports the needs of the business, our leaders, and our teammates. This role leads and develops the People Partner team, serves as a trusted advisor to senior business and clinical leaders, and turns workforce insights into practical actions that improve organizational performance.
The Director brings consistency and scale to People Partner practices while applying sound judgment to complex teammate matters. This leader also advances the effective use of Workday, people analytics, automation, and responsible AI to simplify work, strengthen decisions, and improve the leader and teammate experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enterprise People Partner strategy: Define and execute the People Partner strategy, priorities, KPIs, and success measures in alignment with Marathon Health's business and People Experience objectives.
- Team leadership and capability: Lead, coach, and develop the (6) People Partner team by establishing clear expectations, ongoing growth and development, and providing continuous learning opportunities.
- Leadership Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Business People Leaders and ClinOps Sr Leaders on workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, leadership performance, change management, business transformation.
- Workforce planning and organizational design: Partner with leaders to assess workforce capacity, organizational structure, critical roles, talent risks, and future capabilities; translate findings into actionable workforce and change plans.
- Leadership effectiveness: Strengthen people-leader capability through coaching, consultation, tools, and scalable learning; hold leaders accountable for timely, consistent, and effective people practices.
- Teammate relations and risk: Provide effective HR compliance strategies and senior-level direction for complex investigations, performance matters, accommodations, leaves, separations, and workplace concerns. Ensure objective review, strong documentation, consistent decisions, and compliance.
- Workday Strategy: Partner with HRIS to optimize People Partner business processes, data quality, reporting, and manager self-service in Workday. Sponsor process redesign and adoption for transactions including job changes, transfers, leaves, performance actions, and separations.
- AI and digital enablement: Identify and implement responsible uses of AI-enabled tools and automation across People Partner workflows and healthcare workforce decision-making.
- People analytics and insights: Use Workday and other workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across retention, performance, teammate relations, and leader effectiveness. Convert analysis into clear recommendations and scorecards that measure the impact of actions taken.
- Change and integration leadership: Lead the people strategy for changes, and other enterprise transformations, including workforce impact planning, leader alignment, communications, and adoption.
- Compliance and policy governance: Monitor relevant federal, state, and local employment requirements and healthcare workforce considerations; guide consistent policy application and recommend updates to policies, systems, and leader practices.
- Vendor and program oversight: Provide strategic oversight for assigned People Operations programs and vendors, which may include leave administration, workers' compensation, unemployment, immigration, and compliance reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS - Experience: 10 or more years of progressive human resources or People Partner experience, including at least 5 years managing a People Partners Team or a comparable HR business partner function.
- Healthcare: Demonstrated experience supporting a complex healthcare organization, clinical workforce, or multi-site healthcare operations is required.
- Workday: Hands-on experience using Workday to support HR business processes, workforce reporting, data-informed decisions, and process improvement is required.
- Artificial intelligence: Experience applying AI-enabled tools, automation, or advanced analytics within healthcare, human resources, or workforce operations is required, including an understanding of responsible-use and data-privacy considerations.
- Functional depth: Advanced knowledge of teammate relations, employment law, performance management, organizational design, workforce planning, change leadership, and HR operations.
- Leadership influence: Demonstrated success advising senior leaders, navigating ambiguity, influencing across a matrixed organization, and leading complex decisions with sound judgment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, healthcare administration, organizational leadership, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000/yr
The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate’s years of experience and/or skill level. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.
