Description
The engineer will provide operational and project support for Microsoft Purview data protection and compliance services across Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams and endpoint DLP.
The role covers DLP policy configuration, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, project coordination and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Microsoft Purview DLP, sensitivity labels, Information Protection and Insider Risk Management.
- Configure, test and tune DLP policies, rules, conditions, exceptions and policy tips.
- Review DLP alerts, perform initial triage, capture evidence and escalate issues where required.
- Support endpoint DLP testing, sensitivity label rollout and other Microsoft Purview initiatives.
- Troubleshoot policy and user-impact issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
- Prepare SOPs, test evidence, operational documentation and management updates.
- Coordinate assigned projects and workstreams, including timelines, milestones, deliverables and stakeholder activities.
- Track project risks, issues, dependencies and action items, and escalate delays or blockers.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and Microsoft support to ensure timely project delivery.
- Support implementation, rollout and transition to steady-state operations.
Essential Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Microsoft 365, security, compliance, data protection or enterprise IT operations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview DLP, sensitivity labels, Information Protection and compliance capabilities.
- Understanding of data classification, sensitive information types, policy-based controls and access controls.
- Experience supporting or coordinating IT projects, including planning, progress tracking, risk/issue management and status reporting.
- Good troubleshooting, documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple activities and deliverables.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with endpoint DLP, Microsoft Defender, Entra ID or Intune.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, cybersecurity or data protection projects.
- Familiarity with privacy, audit, regulatory or public-sector compliance requirements.
- Microsoft security/compliance or project management certification will be an advantage.
