Sales Associate Part-Time

Description

The Sales Associate welcomes guests, answers questions, and assists with purchase decisions. Responsibilities include processing returns and refunds, resolving common concerns, and creating an engaging, authentic shopping experience. The role also supports the Retail Manager or designee with daily tasks and contributes as a collaborative team member. 

Responsibilities: 

• Initiates conversation and interacts with the customers in an authentic, and personalized way 
• Assists customers with purchase decisions by consulting with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to ??merchandise, answers questions, shares advice, product knowledge and personal experiences to engage with customers 
• Contributes to the team by being positive, respectful, and helpful to others through actively participating in meetings, Retail and Gift Shop projects and brand focuses 
• Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations 
• Performs ongoing inventory counts and reconciliation activities at the direction of the supervisor and/or retail manager 
• Maintains and contributes to an orderly and clean stock room. 
• Collects payment using the store point of sale system 
• Processes returns and exchanges 
• Maintains Retail managers visual and display standards and ensures the selling floor is well-stocked 
• Takes initiative in development of job skills and knowledge to drive store sales and achieve operational results 
• Assists in the completion of daily projects and checklists while keeping the focus on the customer experience through good time management 
• Demonstrates awareness and adheres to loss prevention, inventory control, safety standards, and all other company policies and procedures 
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of all products sold, and effectively communicates product knowledge and selling points to customers, as well as staff

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred 
• Previous retail and/or customer service experience preferred 
• On-the-job training provided 
• Punctuality and reliability are critical 
• Excellent verbal communication skills 
• Excellent active listening skills 
• Excellent sales and customer service skills 
• Ability to anticipate customers’ needs 
• Ability to recommend merchandise to customers 
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system 
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds at a time 
• Ability to safely use ladders and climb as required to perform job duties 
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space

Shift Availability and Scheduling Requirements: 

• Current openings: mid shift (11:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and closing shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM)? 
• Must commit to one weekend day and be available for holidays
