Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiography Technologist
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiography Technologist to join our accredited echocardiography team. Working in close collaboration with cardiologists, you will perform a comprehensive range of non-invasive and invasive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures across outpatient, inpatient, and acute care settings, as well as participating in on-call coverage for after-hours, weekend, and holiday needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Echocardiography: Perform high-quality adult echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, 2D, 3D, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, tissue Doppler imaging (TDI), and strain imaging.
- Specialized Studies & Contrast: Execute microbubble studies and administer contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), utilizing peripheral IV insertion techniques for imaging enhancement agents as ordered.
- Advanced & Procedural Imaging: Perform exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms, provide imaging support for structural heart procedures, and assist cardiologists with 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
- Clinical Safety & Documentation: Maintain strict aseptic technique, recognize EKG rhythms, and enter accurate, timely patient studies and technical summaries into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Patient & Facility Care: Deliver compassionate patient care, adapt to multi-site clinical needs, and participate in rotational call coverage for emergency diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor's Degree program in Echocardiography/Diagnostic Medical Sonography [Required].
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience as a Cardiac Sonographer in an acute or outpatient cardiology setting [Required].
- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency with IV insertion for contrast agent administration and bubble studies [Required].
- Solid working knowledge of EKG rhythm identification, aseptic technique, and EMR documentation [Required].
- Credentials & Certifications:
- Active credential as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS via ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS via CCI) [Required].
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) [Required].
- Core Competencies: Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy/hemodynamics, 3D TEE and stress echo experience, strong collaborative skills with clinical cardiologists, and patient-centered communication.
