As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol CPO in Washington, DC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $34.34 / Hour

21+ Years of Age Security Experience - 5+ Years Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent Armed Guard Card/License DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR Associates Degree/60 College Credits OR Police Academy Certificate OR Corrections Academy Certificate CPO

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with property management and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, loading docks, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and property concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete required incident reports, patrol logs, and other security-related documentation accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess a CPO certification.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have 5+ years of security-related experience.
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
