Production Operator

Overview

To work with in our packing department, which pack's all the meals on site which on average is around 1.4 million units a week. The main role will be to check the product after freezing ensuring it is suitable to pack and then packing in a variety of different ways dependant on one of the 10 lines existing in the department, the packs range from 200grams up to 1.6KG which work up to 52 packs per minute. All defects will be captured and concerns will be raised to your team leader. You will work with in a core team of 17 to do all functions across the department and expected to have a pro-active approach to your working style. 

 

This role is working 40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 1400-2200, Friday 1500-2300.

 

£13.80 per hour + Bonus + Benefits

Responsibilities

• To always keep the packing department tidy and auditable ready. 
• To be able to quality check packs whilst packing. 
• To ensure a safe working environment & risks highlighted. 
• To assist other roles in the department when required. 
• To keep up with the desired line speeds. 
• To be flexible with working in other departments when required.  

Qualifications/Personal Qualities

• Ability to obtain or have food safety level 2 (training provided)
• Comfortable standing for periods of time. 
• Attention to detail. 
• Able to follow tasks.
• Clean as you go. 
• Pack as required on all lines. 
• Good English speaking.  
• Previous food Manufacturing or warehouse experience (not essential)
