SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento

Position Overview:

Responsible for supporting large entity nursing strategy across a large healthcare entity. Ensures the integration of best practices, regulatory compliance, and innovative patient care models. This role is critical in advancing nursing excellence, workforce development, and patient-centered care while aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento is the foundation of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest health network with 29 acute care hospitals, more than 5,000 primary care physicians and specialists, home health, occupational health, psychiatric care and more. The downtown Sacramento Medical Center is made up of several facilities that include Ose Adams Medical Pavilion, Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center, and Sutter Center for Psychiatry.

Ose Adams Medical Pavilion
The 281-bed specialty medical center focuses on general acute medical/surgical care as well as a medical base to advanced services for cancer, orthopedics, spine, and neurology, and neurosurgery.

Anderson Lucchetti Women's & Children's Center
The 242-bed specialty medical center focuses on women's and children's specialty services and includes medical intensive care units for cardiac and neurological patients.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

 

  • BSN-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Master’s-MHA or MBA degree required.

 

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

 

  • RN-Registered Nurse

 

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 8 years recent relevant experience

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Must be knowledgeable about health care and labor laws, regulations, accreditation requirements and clinical standards of practice. 
  • Must be familiar with various methods of care delivery, productivity, management, leadership, and quality improvement concepts. 
  • Must be familiar with all areas of professional clinical practice including the practice of medicine. 
  • Is cognizant of the principles of adult learning. 
  • Ability to plan, lead, organize, and execute in areas of responsibility to achieve desired outcomes / results.   
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in areas of negotiations and conflict resolution. 
  • Must have analytical problem-solving skills as well as the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with diverse others including colleagues, managers, and medical staff and be able to teach and develop others. 
  • Must be able to prioritize, make decisions and set clear expectations for others and execute decisions in a timely manner. 
  • Experience with Lean methodologies, including Daily Engagement System, Value Stream Mapping, Process Improvement, Planning and Executive Kaizen events. 
  • Must be self-directed, forward thinking, and innovative.

Pay Range is $266,323.20 to $426,129.60 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
