What We Do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably.
Our planet's future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. That's why we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely and create less waste.
Together, we are driving the shift to smart, efficient and more sustainable mining.
Make Your Impact
At Weir, you'll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You'll apply your expertise to deliver results that matter, whether that's through engineering, planning or customer support. You'll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead Weir's Group financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning and performance management activities across a FTSE 100 organisation.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this highly visible role supports the CFO, Group Executive and Board by providing insight-led analysis to inform strategic decision making. You will help shape capital allocation, market guidance, investor messaging and long-term value creation while ensuring timely, accurate and actionable financial information is available across the organisation.
As a leader within Group Finance, you will manage a team of qualified accountants and ICAS trainees while building strong relationships with stakeholders across Treasury, Investor Relations, divisional Finance teams, external auditors and advisors.
What you'll do
Leadership & Team Development: Lead the Group FP&A function, providing guidance, coaching, and support to a team of qualified and trainee accountants. Foster a positive, collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and high performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Own and drive the Group's forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning activities, including quarterly forecasting cycles, annual budgeting, and five-year strategic planning. Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to support decision-making at Executive and Board levels.
Financial Modelling & Reporting: Develop and maintain complex financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions, viability statements, and going concern assessments. Manage preparation of materials for the CFO, Audit Committee, Board, and external reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership, Investor Relations, divisional Finance teams, external auditors, and advisors. Support Investor Relations with financial storytelling, market guidance, and Capital Markets Day presentations.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance reporting systems. Embed and drive compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards in partnership with Governance, Controls and Compliance teams.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support stakeholder engagement and investor-related activities.
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our Zero Harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
