Who We Are Looking For
Alpha Consulting is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Program Management Office (PMO) Lead to support strategic client transformation programs while helping establish and scale a new consulting PMO capability within Alpha. This leadership role is ideal for an individual who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and has a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale business and technology transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong executive presence, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive accountability and execution across multiple organizations and workstreams.
As a PMO leader, you will play a critical role in shaping delivery standards, driving governance excellence, mentoring project management talent, and helping build a best-in-class consulting organization capable of supporting Alpha's continued growth.
Position Summary
The PMO Lead will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of strategic client programs, including the Ariel implementation, while helping build and mature the Alpha Consulting PMO organization.
This individual will serve as the central point of coordination across clients, State Street leadership, implementation teams, product organizations, and operational partners to ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with established governance standards. The role requires a hands-on leader who can balance executive stakeholder management with strong delivery discipline, ensuring transparency, accountability, and successful outcomes across complex transformation programs. This is a highly visible, client-facing leadership position requiring expertise in program governance, change management, project delivery, organizational leadership, and strategic consulting.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Delivery
- Serve as the PMO Lead for strategic Alpha client programs, including Ariel and future consulting engagements.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of large-scale transformation programs from mobilization through implementation and stabilization.
- Lead Program Managers, Workstream Project Managers, and PMO resources to ensure successful delivery against milestones, scope, budget, and timelines.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans across business, operational, and technology workstreams.
- Drive resolution of cross-functional risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery challenges.
- Support organizational readiness and transition-to-business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
Governance, Controls & Reporting
- Establish and maintain PMO governance frameworks, delivery methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Lead steering committees, governance forums, executive reviews, and program status meetings.
- Ensure adherence to Alpha implementation methodology, governance standards, audit requirements, and tollgate processes.
- Own program planning, reporting, and controls utilizing Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and other project management tools.
- Develop executive dashboards, status reports, RAID logs, action trackers, and key performance metrics.
- Maintain program documentation and evidence repositories to support governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
Executive Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives and senior State Street leadership.
- Build strong relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders across business and technology organizations.
- Facilitate discussions regarding program progress, risks, dependencies, strategic decisions, and overall program health.
- Prepare and present executive-level updates, steering committee materials, and governance reporting.
- Develop communication strategies that promote transparency, accountability, and stakeholder alignment.
- Influence decisions and drive outcomes across organizations without direct reporting authority.
PMO Leadership & Organizational Development
- Help define and execute the vision, operating model, and organizational structure for the Alpha Consulting PMO.
- Establish Alpha Consulting as a center of excellence for program delivery, governance, and change management.
- Develop repeatable delivery frameworks, templates, reporting standards, and best practices.
- Partner with leadership to recruit, mentor, and develop PMO talent.
- Support resource forecasting, capacity planning, budget oversight, and financial management activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery quality, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Program Management, PMO Leadership, Consulting, or Transformation Management experience.
- Proven track record leading large-scale business and technology transformation programs within financial services.
- Strong executive presence with experience interacting with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
- Expertise in program governance, risk management, project controls, and delivery oversight.
- Experience managing multiple project managers, workstreams, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and drive results through others.
- Advanced knowledge of Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and project reporting tools.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience within asset management, investment operations, custody, middle office, Alpha implementations, or platform transformation programs is highly desirable.
- Experience building or scaling PMO organizations, consulting teams, or delivery centers of excellence is a plus.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $207,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
