IT Consultant (WebSphere to JBoss Migration) - German Speaking (Freelance, Remote)

We are seeking an experienced **German-speaking IT Consultant** to support our client in a **migration from IBM WebSphere to JBoss**. The role will start with an **initial 1-2 day meeting in Hamburg** to discuss the project scope, followed by **fully remote work** for the remainder of the **6-month contract**. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled consultant to contribute to a critical migration project within a dynamic IT environment.

## Tasks

• Lead and execute the **migration of applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss**.
• Assess existing WebSphere infrastructure, define migration strategy, and ensure a seamless transition to JBoss.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the migration process.
• Document processes, provide training if necessary, and ensure system stability post-migration.

## Requirements

• **Fluent German and English skills** (spoken and written) are a must.
• **Strong experience in migrating applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss**.
• Proficiency in **Linux-based environments**, including shell scripting and system administration.
• Solid understanding of **Java EE applications** and their deployment on both WebSphere and JBoss.
• Experience with **cloud-based solutions** and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
