The Bloom lab in the Basic Sciences Division and Computational Biology program has an opening for a Graduate Research Assistant in computational biology. The Graduate Research Assistant will write computer code to analyze viral deep sequencing data, and analyze the results. 

Responsibilities

• Write well organized computational pipelines to analyzing deep sequencing data.
• Analyze data to examine viral mutations both at the fixed and intrahost levels.
• Interpret data in the context of the broader scientific literature and knowledge.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Student should be currently enrolled in a Masters program in computer science or similar program
• At least one year of prior experience as a software engineer.
• Recent experience with snakemake and tools for analyzing viral deep sequencing data.
