QA Engineer 2

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Cross-functional collaboration with Onto's SW development, SW Quality Assurance and Applications teams to validate software releases for various use-cases across Onto's major customer(s) install base.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop test plans based on customer use-cases for new software releases through the entire SDLC process
• Develop efficient test strategies for the different sub-systems comprising the product.
• Develop and execute automated and manual tests, regression, functional, and acceptance tests
• Investigate, reproduce, log and escalate reported issues/defects
• Support full software lifecycle product development for all Onto’s Inspection Business Unit products
• Support SW and tool integration efforts in customer clean room

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical engineering, Systems engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in software testing and/or Systems level testing
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience in scripting (Python, Perl, etc)
• Good understanding of CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Gitlab, Artifactory, etc
• Ability to design and execute test strategies and plans based on requirements and functional designs
• Understanding of test automation frameworks
• Experience using generative/agentic AI tools like MS Copilot
• Experience working with SQL server and database
• Experience working with SEMI-industry AOI tools a plus
• Good communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel  ~20%
