The Role

The Investment Analyst will work as part of the broader European investment and asset management team. Key responsibilities will include analysis of real estate investment opportunities, market and deal research and supporting senior investment team members on transaction executions. Over time, the role will also support the management of existing portfolio assets, working with the asset management team on lease analysis, reporting, hold/sell analysis, redevelopment projects and refinancing initiatives.

  • Financial analysis of a wide range of real estate investments, including modelling of real estate cash flows, financing and tax assumptions, IRRs, output sensitivities etc., as well as research to support key underwriting assumptions

  • Analysis and interpretation of real estate, economic and public company data, including financial statements, to conduct valuation and operational benchmarking

  • Preparation of documents for internal and external purposes, including writing investment committee memos and presentations to partners

  • Ability to work well within a small, relatively flat team, coordinating directly with senior team members and external advisors, allowing broad exposure to deals at an early stage

  • Ability to work closely with teammates in Singapore (European and Asia Pacific are a combined region at Oxford) and also with colleagues in Oxford’s Toronto head office

The Person

  • Fluency in English. Fluency in French or German would be an advantage

  • Up to 12 months experience in investment / financial analysis and transaction support, preferably within the European real estate sector (investment bank or a real estate investment fund preferred)

  • Strong analytical, technical and valuation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, powerpoint)

  • Experience of presentation preparation, research and co-ordination of due-diligence

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to interact with external advisors and peers. Potential to develop industry network and contacts with peers over time and represent Oxford in the European market

  • Team player; self-starter; diligent, able to take initiative and work in a dynamic environment; professional and positive attitude
