Job Description:

Position Overview

Support the Client Cash Management "Wire, Banking, Foreign Exchange" team in the day-to-day processing of Banking, Wire and Foreign Exchange transactions and related operational activities. This role requires an individual who can complete assigned work accurately, efficiently and within established service standards while applying appropriate procedures, due diligence, quality controls and escalation practices. The Wealth Banking Officer works closely with internal Wealth business partners and operational partners to support timely movement of funds, resolve inquiries and contribute to a consistent, high-quality partner and client experience. Reports to a Team Manager and work under established operating policies, procedures, compliance requirements and regulatory guidelines.

Trade & Cash Management, Legislated Products is comprised of several departments: Client Cash Management, Trade Management, Clearing, Securities Lending, Settlements, Segregation, Trade Input/GIC’s and Managed Accounts Support (MAS), Client Cash Management and Private Trust

The Client Cash Management "CCM" works in partnership with all Wealth Lines of Businesses and their Operational Partners, by providing operational services excellence and support for Banking, Wires and Foreign Exchange activities.

Department main functions includes: (1) the clearing and reconciliation of cheques deposits through the clearing agent "Symcor", (2) the process and reconciliation all banking transactions on TDCT Commercial Personal Accounting "CPA" System, (3) the delivery and receipt of domestic and international wires via the Wire Payment system "WPS", and (4) the processing of all Foreign Exchanges for our Wealth partners.

Cash Management has the responsibility to ensure client and partner instructions are processed and settled in accordance with Investment Industry Rules and Regulations. Other obligations include ensuring the movement of funds occurs within a timely manner, is accurate and within the regulatory guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Process Banking, Wire and Foreign Exchange requests in accordance with established procedures, service standards, approval requirements and regulatory guidelines.

  • Review and validate transaction details, account information, supporting documentation to help ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with account standards.

  • Complete and record daily operational transactions, including banking entries, wire payment activities, foreign exchange postings and related reconciliation or control tasks as assigned.

  • Respond to partner inquiries, electronic traffic and service requests in a timely, professional and efficient manner while maintaining a high-quality partner experience.

  • Investigate routine and non-standard issues, identify discrepancies or incomplete information, and escalate high-risk, time-sensitive or complex matters to the Team Lead or Team Manager as required.

  • Partner and collaborate with Wealth team members and operational partners to identify, resolve and communicate Client Cash Management related issues.

  • Support process improvement, cross-training and knowledge-sharing opportunities by identifying recurring issues, sharing observations and contributing ideas that improve accuracy, efficiency and service delivery

  • Complete your work in an accurate, timely and efficient manner at all times. Ensure your daily work kept for audit purposes is accessible, organized and filed according to TD Wealth record retention policy.

  • Ensure necessary procedures, due diligence, quality controls and quality verifications are followed to support the accuracy of all transactions at all times.

  • Contribute to the timely and accurate completion of departments administration work in addition to your daily functions.

  • Ensure issues are handled appropriately by performing quality investigations, escalating issues timely when necessary.

  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with TD and industry codes of conduct and with laws and regulations.

  • Understand and apply bank/department operating policies and procedures at all times.

  • Understand and comply with the Wealth Canada AML Policy. This will include completing all required training materials/courses. Responsible to report a UTR for any unusual financial activity or behavior.

  • Create positive customer experience at every interaction and look for ways to contribute to positive client and employee experiences.

  • Contribute to a positive working environment by actively participating in work committees and events.

  • Actively participate in regular team meetings and coaching sessions.

  • Contribute to respectful, cooperative, non-discriminatory and supportive workplace environment (physical workspace as well as the location of any meeting or event that is organized by TD).

  • Actively participate in the performance management process. Meet professional/personal development objectives by utilizing various learning tools.

  • Initiate and take ownership of personal development trough ongoing education by utilizing LMS (Learning Management System), external courses and cross –training as appropriate.

  • Share in the responsibility for delivering consistent Operational Excellence by following TD Framework and through your own accountabilities & objectives.

  • Be on time and ready to begin your workday at the start of your scheduled shift. You must be at your desk and logged into your workstation and ready to perform your job functions at the start of your scheduled shift.

  • Adhere to Pay for Additional Hours of Work Policy. Overtime worked that is requested and approved by managers will be paid.

  • Demonstrate flexibility with working environment changes and requirements. Availability to work shifting schedule to ensure coverage is fundamental to your position.

  • Ensure that your work environment and department area is professional and inviting in appearance. Adhere to Clean Desk Policy. Ensure client information is locked away, desks are locked nightly, areas around desks, fax machines and printers are tidy and free of documents containing client information.

  • Abide by dress code policy. Your choice of work attire must be neat, clean and conform to the established dress standards of your business, having regard to personal hygiene and grooming.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree/ college diploma preferred and/or
  • 1+ years relevant experience
