Description
About Market My Market
Market My Market is a fast-growing digital marketing agency delivering customized, full-service marketing campaigns that bring companies to life online. We pride ourselves in delivering measurable results that directly impact our clients' businesses. Our target markets include single event legal, specialty medical, and dental clients located across the country who are looking to grow their presence in their local markets.
Our Growth Story: In just 4 years, Market My Market has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from 40 clients to more than 300 clients. This rapid expansion reflects our commitment to excellence and the trust our clients place in our services.
About the Role
As a Digital PR Contractor at Market My Market, you'll own media outreach end to end for a portfolio of legal, specialty medical, and dental clients — finding the story, building the list, writing the pitch, and landing the coverage. You'll report to the Director of PR and work alongside our Digital PR team to secure placements, links, and expert positioning in the publications our clients' future clients actually read. This is a contractor position with a potential opportunity to grow into a full-time position depending on performance and company growth.
A week in this role looks like scanning the news cycle for opportunities in your clients' practice areas, building a targeted media list on the spot for a story that broke yesterday, running daily outreach through Qwoted and direct journalist relationships, shaping the angle on a client's expert commentary and briefing the content team on how to write it, and following up on the pitch you sent Tuesday that hasn't gotten a reply yet.
This is a hands-on execution role with real ownership of client relationships and results.
Career Growth Opportunities
Digital PR is one of Market My Market's fastest-growing service lines, expanding across our client roster as firms compete for authority in both search and AI-generated answers. As the team grows, we're creating clear advancement paths into senior and management roles. We believe in promoting from within and providing our team members with the resources and mentorship needed to grow their careers alongside our company.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Execution: Run PR campaigns from brief through outreach, follow-up, and results, managing daily tasks, timelines, and deliverables across multiple clients
Media Relationships & Outreach: Build and maintain real relationships with reporters and editors, lead proactive outreach and disciplined follow-up, and track reporter preferences, beats, and engagement history so every next pitch lands warmer
Pitch Writing & Storytelling: Write pitches reporters actually open — tailored to the outlet, the angle, and the moment — across both proactive campaigns and reactive news opportunities
Reactive Media: Monitor the news cycle for opportunities relevant to our clients' practice areas and move quickly when one hits, pitching reporters directly with a timely angle
Source Requests: Respond daily to journalist source requests on Qwoted, Source of Sources, and similar platforms, matching the right client expert to the right query
Thought Leadership & Expert Positioning: Identify the angles that position clients as credible sources, define how their expertise should be framed for each opportunity, and brief the content team so the commentary lands the way the outlet needs it
Data-Led Campaigns: Support campaign development by sourcing datasets, shaping angles, and writing the story around the numbers
Media List Building & Targeting: Build and refine media lists using Muck Rack, JournoFinder, and manual research, sharpening targeting over time to lift response rates
Reporting: Track coverage, links, and outreach performance, and report clearly on what's working and what isn't
Competitive Intelligence: Monitor competitor media coverage, link acquisition, and authority gaps to find where our clients can differentiate and win
Collaboration: Work closely with content, Client Experience, and PR leadership to keep campaigns moving and aligned to client goals
Requirements
3–5 years in PR, digital PR, media relations, or journalism, with hands-on outreach experience.
Proven placements you can point to. You should be able to walk us through a specific piece of coverage you landed, what the angle was, and why the reporter said yes.
You generate the angles, not just execute them. Given a client and a news cycle, you come back with three ideas worth pitching — not a request for direction.
Strong, fast writing. You can turn a complex topic into three sentences that make a reporter care.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns and client portfolios simultaneously without dropping threads
Comfortable with volume and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the discipline to work remotely
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with legal, dental, medical, or other regulated professional services clients
Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and how earned links and citations affect search and AI visibility
Location
This position is fully remote and we are only hiring candidates located in the following states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Virginia
Compensation & Benefits
$33.50 per hour, 40 hours per week. Remote work opportunity
