Job Summary
The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining detailed standard costs in the Company's ERP system while providing COGS Variance analysis, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and support various projects related to inventory and cost.
Essential Functions
Create monthly costs entries for General Ledger closings and reconciliations.
Prepare account analysis reports pertaining to cost and inventory including postings, balancing, and reconciliation to the General Ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Run WO/MO weekly, research variance and fix if needed.
Run weekly PPV, Yield, Rework, Floor stock, scrap, revalue std, INV Adj and analyze variances.
Run GL vs perpetual pre close and post close, reconcile, research, reclass or fix WO.
Month-End: Reconcile INV Batch, INV in transit (BTP JE), download and prepare WIP Accrual JE and INV usage tax JE.
Download, analyze INV receipts report and prepare Material OH Reclass.
Variance Scrap Reclass and Expire items scrap reclass to E&O.
Monitor weekly fluctuations and activity regarding inventory transactions and COGS variances.
Analyze Freight in/out, material usage for warranty and outside service charges.
Work with Operations to review usage adjustment, and timely disposition.
Track and reconcile units used for evaluations, outside vendor and prepare quarterly E&O review.
Prepare and analyze manufacturing department expenses for monthly reviews.
Monitor inventory transactions, analyze inventory reports, and review standard costs.
Work extensively with manufacturing personnel in order to control/analyze standard costs for materials, labor and overhead.
Work with manufacturing to collect data for materials, labor and overhead.
Establish, input and control financial inventory flow and standard reevaluations.
Manage inventory tracking, inventory control and direct labor cost and absorption analysis.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Any other job responsibilities as assigned by management and subject to modification.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting, Finance or related field required
5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance including 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment with Standard Cost experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously and manage multiple deadlines
Excellent follow-through and meticulous eye for detail
Strong team player willing to share responsibility to accomplish goals
Computer skills, including Excel, are required.
Great Plains/Dynamics preferred, but not required

The annual salary for this position is:
$81,900.00 to $122,800.00Factors which may affect starting salary include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Details of ZOLL's comprehensive benefits plans can be found at www.zollbenefits.com.
