Collections Strategy Analyst
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Collection Strategy Analyst to support the optimisation of collections performance through data-driven analysis, strategy development, testing, and execution. The successful candidate will analyse portfolio performance, implement and monitor collection strategies, and drive continuous improvements to maximise after-cost collections while improving operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Extract, manipulate, and analyse portfolio and collections data using SQL and Excel.
- Identify trends, patterns, and performance gaps across customer segments, channels, and campaigns.
- Translate data findings into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis on underperforming areas to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Support the implementation of collection strategies across various operational channels, including Call Centre, Digital, and EDC.
- Assist with the design and execution of A/B testing to evaluate strategy effectiveness.
- Track, measure, and report on test outcomes, providing recommendations for further improvements.
- Drive the execution of approved strategy changes and enhancements.
- Monitor key collections performance metrics, including RPC, PTP, conversion rates, and yield.
- Track strategy and campaign performance against expected outcomes.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention.
- Provide ongoing insights to improve operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain regular performance reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Build dashboards and performance views to support data-driven decision-making.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve strategy execution, data processes, and reporting efficiency.
- Support the optimisation of operational processes through data-driven insights.
- Contribute to the development of scalable and repeatable analytical approaches.
- Work closely with Data Scientists, Collections Operations, Call Centre, Digital teams, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between analytical insights and operational execution.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical outputs.
- Analyse customer behaviour and payment patterns to inform targeting and treatment strategies.
- Support customer segmentation and account prioritisation based on risk and value.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- 2–5 years’ experience in data analysis, collections, or financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- SQL (essential).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Power BI or other reporting tools (advantageous).
- Exposure to collections, credit risk, or financial services environments (preferred).
