Description
We're rethinking homes for how people really live, and we're looking for a Buyer, Category Planning to join our Category Management team to help shape the future of living — one thoughtful detail at a time.
Our Category Planning team sits at the intersection of product, commercial, and customer, shaping what we make, how we price it, and how we bring it to market. If you've built sharp category or product instincts in another consumer industry — fashion, FMCG, electronics, lifestyle, retail, or beyond — and you're genuinely curious about how furniture gets designed, made, and sold, we want to hear from you. We're interested in individuals with excellent product judgment, commercial thinking, paired with a genuine passion for the furniture industry.
What you'll be doing:
- Own the end-to-end NPD process for Dining — from product briefing and internal alignment through to launch execution and post-launch review.
- Drive category growth through assortment planning, portfolio optimisation, pricing evaluation, and category strategy initiatives.
- Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and SKU analysis to identify customer needs, market opportunities, and product gaps.
- Develop compelling product stories and key selling points that resonate with target customers and support commercial objectives.
- Lead go-to-market planning and launch readiness, ensuring products are accurately represented and effectively executed across all customer touchpoints.
- Analyse category performance, customer insights, and market trends to generate recommendations that improve sales, profitability, and assortment effectiveness.
- Partner closely with Buying, Design, Product Development, Marketing, Web Operations, and Showroom teams to drive alignment and ensure seamless execution across all product milestones.
What you need to succeed:
- 3-5 years of experience in category management, product development, buying, or merchandising within any consumer-facing industry — furniture and home living experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. What we're really looking for is a proven product instinct you're ready to apply to a new category.
- Strong product sense and design awareness. You know how to evaluate style, material, functionality, and price positioning within your own category, and you're ready to bring that same rigour to furniture.
- Analytical and commercially minded, with experience interpreting market trends, benchmarking competitors, and translating insights into clear recommendations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across Buying, Design, Sourcing, Vendors, and other cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role is hands-on from day one, so you should be someone who learns fast, figures things out, and delivers without being chased — a mindset that tends to transfer well across industries.
- A genuine interest in furniture and home living — whether from professional exposure to Dining, Casegoods, Wood Furniture, Outdoor, or similar categories, or simply a strong personal passion for how homes and furniture are designed and experienced — is highly valued.
