The Role
Due to recent project wins, we are currently seeking Experienced Structural Engineers to join our Construction Engineering team in Melbourne. Working closely with contractors, design and delivery teams, you’ll be positioned at the interface between design and construction to solve complex engineering challenges.
Successful candidates will provide specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design services to some of the biggest contractors constructing Melbourne's most significant building projects. Projects include some of Melbourne’s most significant commercial, residential, health, education and mixed-use developments, often involving cranes and equipment, tower structures and constrained urban environments.
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Detailed structural design of innovative temporary works and associated impacts on permanent works
- Detailed structural design of innovative temporary works and associated impacts on permanent works
- Detailed structural design and documentation of infrastructure permanent works along with identification of and consideration of relevant temporary works from tender phase through to construction phase
- Client liaison, in conjunction with Project Directors and Associates, regarding current and future projects
- Active involvement in all your projects, including project resource management, in conjunction with the Project Directors
- Successfully deliver current and future projects, while supporting RBG's reputation for innovation, technical excellence, quality, and project delivery
- Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors, and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness, and co-ordination of project deliverables
About You
- Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus in Structural Engineering
- 4+ years’ Structural engineering industry experience
- Experience in the delivery of temporary works design is preferred but not required
- Experience in transport, energy, industrial or civil infrastructure projects will be highly regarded
- Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in the delivery of detailed engineering drawings corresponding with level of duties
- Solid grounding in steel and concrete design
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated design experience using relevant Structural software
- Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
- Submit technical reports of a standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
- Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
