Summary:
Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production supervisors as well as direct team members, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Acts as liaison between department leadership, support staff, and production team members.
- Drives continuous improvement activities within the department, including development of standard work procedures and meeting key milestones.
- Coordinates efforts to achieve efficiency and departmental KPIs.
- Fosters a culture of encouragement and motivation that is conducive to helping production team members succeed in their role.
- Enforce all applicable safety regulations, as well as regional and local policies and procedures.
- Champions problem-solving efforts within the department.
- Responsible for data mining, analysis, and reporting as required for leadership review and budgeting.
- Oversees delegation of appropriate departmental tasks and projects.
- Directly oversee supervisors in department.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: Minimum 5-7yrs prior relevant experience and more than 1-3 years leadership experience
Working Conditions:
- Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift/move up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work 40 – 60hrs per week (including weekends/holidays). On-call availability 7 days per week.
- Up to 10% domestic and international may be required as needed.
- Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
