The HR Business Advisor will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to business leaders, partnering with them to drive the people agenda and enable business success. This role is responsible for delivering the full spectrum of HR Business Advisory, including talent management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, capability development, employee relations and change management.

As MUFG Global Service continues to strengthen and expand its presence in Pune, this role presents a unique opportunity to help establish strong people practices, foster a high performance culture and shape an exceptional employee experience from the early stages of the location’s growth. The incumbent will work closely with business leaders, regional HR teams and CoEs to influence key people decisions and support sustainable business growth.

The ideal candidate will bring strong Banking or Financial Services GCC experience, possess excellent stakeholder management skills and demonstrate the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence in a highly matrixed global environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to align people strategies with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including talent management, engagement and development.
  • Advise on organization design, workforce planning and leadership effectiveness.
  • Leverage people analytics to inform strategic HR decisions.
  • Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure seamless HR program execution in collaboration with HR teams.
  • Drive process improvements and support the growth of the Pune location.
  • Contribute to regional and global HR initiatives and best practice sharing.

Job Requirements:

Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience. Candidates with up to 10 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Prior experience within Banking, Financial Services, Banking Captives or Global Capability Centers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting medium to large employee populations in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business leaders and regional or global stakeholders.

Education

  • MBA or Post Graduate qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline from a reputed institution.

Functional Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of end to end HR Business Partnering.
  • Experience in Performance Management, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Employee Engagement, Rewards and Recognition, Organization Development, Workforce Planning and Employee Relations.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting HR metrics, dashboards, and workforce trends to influence business decisions.
  • Good understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience working with HR systems such as Workday and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is desirable.
