Job Description Summary

The Full Stack Developer participates in all aspects of software development. The person selected for this position will work as a team member to support Santa Fe College’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Creates project technical specifications based on the business requirements

  • Creates requested software on various platforms, including and not limited to web, mobile, and middleware, using a variety of programming languages and specifications.

  • Makes software updates as needed based on feedback and testing.

  • Tests and debugs applications to ensure there are no errors and that the applications are ready for the production environment.

  • Recommends software development best practices to IT management and the Technical Architect

  • Meets with users and stakeholders to understand their applications needs and develop project specifications. 

  • Provides technical guidance regarding the business implications of application development projects.

  • Participates in regular team meetings to discuss projects, timelines, and issues encountered in the software creation process.

  • Maintains documentation regarding software development activities and results.

  • Provides service to the college through participation in events, committees, and other college activities.

  • Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.

  • Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: An associate degree in Information Technology or a related field with four (4) years of direct hands-on complex JAVA development experience or an equivalent backend programming language (C++, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, Golang, etc.), or a combination of completed education and/or hands-on experience equal to six (6) years.
Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Prior experience with and understanding of Spring Framework, Angular Framework; developing software using ORM; Bitbucket, Jira; SDLC; responsive design of web applications; implementing reactive UI; material design, bootstrap; developing full stack applications from database layer to backend to UI; VSCode, Eclipse, Sublime, IntelliJ, WebStorm.
