Cabin Crew Manager – Training and Standards

Airnorth is seeking an experienced aviation professional to join our Flight Operations management team in either the Darwin or Perth (Burswood) office as Cabin Crew Manager – Training and Standards.

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the training and checking requirements for Cabin Crew operating under CASR Part 121. Reporting to the Manager Training Development & Standards, you will help establish and maintain a strong training culture, ensure regulatory compliance and support consistent operational standards across the Cabin Crew workforce.

The position combines line flying, training, checking and office-based duties. Some flexibility in working hours will be required to meet operational and training needs.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Ensure all CASR Part 121 Cabin Crew training and checking activities are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Develop, review and maintain initial and recurrent Cabin Crew training materials.

• Develop and maintain training materials for Cabin Crew Trainers and Check personnel.

• Ensure Cabin Crew training and proficiency records are accurate, complete and appropriately maintained.

• Coordinate with Rostering, Compliance and Planning to ensure training and checking activities are scheduled within required timeframes.

• Review Cabin Crew training and checking policies and recommend amendments to the Cabin Crew Training and Checking Manual.

• Deliver CASR Part 121.K emergency procedures training, revalidation and assessment for aircrew.

• Schedule and facilitate Cabin Crew training and checking meetings.

• Maintain consistent training and checking standards through line surveillance and ongoing quality oversight.

• Work proactively to ensure sufficient appropriately trained and qualified Cabin Crew are available to meet operational requirements.

• Assist with the selection and professional development of Cabin Crew Trainers and Check personnel.

• Hold a Cabin Crew training and checking position and maintain Check-to-Line status on one or both fleet types.

• Participate in employee performance appraisals and identify individual training and development requirements.

• Identify, communicate and manage departmental hazards and workplace health and safety matters.

• Provide operational support and undertake line flying as required.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as Cabin Crew.

• Experience in customer service and/or airline operations.

• Experience supervising or leading a team.

• The ability to motivate, coach and support employees.

• Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.

• The ability to negotiate, influence and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• An understanding of departmental KPIs and employee performance management principles.

• Strong written communication, facilitation and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience developing, documenting and communicating policies, procedures or training materials.

• The ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

• The ability to obtain and maintain operational Cabin Crew requirements, including Responsible Service of Alcohol, First Aid and a valid passport.

• The ability to obtain and maintain relevant CASA instructor and certification approvals.

Previous experience delivering Cabin Crew training, conducting competency assessments or working within a regulated training and checking environment will be highly regarded.
