The Opportunity
Sattva partners with governments and philanthropic organizations to strengthen public systems through flagship initiatives. Working closely with senior government stakeholders, the team designs and delivers high-impact advisory engagements that strengthen administrative systems, improve institutional effectiveness, and enable sustainable implementation.
As a Lead in the Government Advisory Practice, you will play a key role in delivering complex government advisory engagements, managing senior stakeholder relationships, and identifying opportunities to deepen Sattva's engagement with government partners. The role requires strong consulting experience, an understanding of state government systems, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments while driving meaningful, long-term impact.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Government Advisory & Engagement Delivery (60%)
-- Lead the delivery of government advisory engagements partnering with government leadership to co-design high-impact initiatives and support their effective implementation.
-- Manage relationships with government stakeholders, donor partners, and other ecosystem stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle, while driving alignment between government strategic priorities and donor focus areas to enable sustainable scale and impact.
-- Drive collaboration across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of engagement outcomes.
-- Ensure project milestones, timelines, and quality standards are consistently achieved while working effectively with the team, providing guidance, and fostering sustained motivation.
2. Relationship Management & Account Development (30%)
-- Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior state government stakeholders.
-- Understand evolving government priorities and identify opportunities to create additional value through ongoing engagements.
-- Serve as a trusted advisor to government counterparts by fostering strong working relationships.
-- Support the expansion and continuity of existing government partnerships through proactive stakeholder engagement.
3. Support Future Opportunities (10%)
-- Support Sattva on emerging government advisory opportunities as required.
-- Contribute insights and learnings from engagements to strengthen future work.
-- Collaborate with internal teams on strategic priorities related to government advisory.
Key qualifications and experiences
-- 15+ years of professional experience.
-- Strong consulting experience, preferably in consulting organizations working on public sector or impact-focused engagements.
-- Proven experience in influencing key government stakeholders and anchoring implementation of flagship initiatives is a strong plus.
-- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior government stakeholders.
-- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
-- English and Marathi proficiency is mandatory.
-- Based in Mumbai or willing to relocate to Mumbai.
