The Business Development Land Technician provides administrative, analytical, and project support to the Business Development Land team in evaluating and executing acquisitions, divestitures, trades, and other strategic transactions. This role helps coordinate information across Business Development, Accounting, Finance, Land Administration, and other internal groups to support timely, accurate transaction activity.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This individual must be able to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across disciplines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Business Development team in evaluating, tracking, and executing acquisitions, divestitures, trades, and other strategic initiatives
- Prepare correspondence and other documents for review and approval. Assist Landmen in preparation of contracts such as - Purchase and Sale Agreements, Exchange Agreements, and other applicable documents
- Assist Landmen in preparation of Exhibits and Schedules for all associated agreements
- Work across company disciplines including Land, Accounting, Finance, Land Administration, and Reservoir Engineering
- Assist with transaction due diligence, data gathering, document organization, and project tracking
- Assist in maintaining transaction databases, trackers, and business development records
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects and proactively drive tasks to completion with limited supervision
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- At least one (1) year of experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain discretion and appropriately handle confidential and proprietary business information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of industry experience in land or related field
- Basic knowledge of Oil and Gas practices and policies and can apply that knowledge to the work
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to consistently deliver reliable, accurate work while meeting deadlines and project objectives.Ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and flexibility regarding workload and priorities
- Basic research skills with regard to reviewing multiple data sources to find specific information
- Proven ability to identify issues requiring escalation and communicate concerns effectively.
