Cole Valley Christian Schools, established in 1972, is the largest Christian school in Idaho, serving approximately 1,400 students from early childhood through 12th grade with a culture of grace, truth and love. Job Summary: 

Cole Valley Christian Schools (CVCS) is seeking God’s wisdom as we search for a Christ following, dynamic, and gifted individual to join our coaching staff. Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley’s vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. The Varsity Head Softball Coach will demonstrate strong leadership, sportsmanship, player development skills and have a heart for discipleship.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the program head of the CVCS varsity softball program by establishing philosophies and continuity throughout all levels of the program.
• Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity softball practices, games and program activities.
• Develop student-athletes’ softball fundamentals, teamwork, discipline, and character.
• Build and maintain a positive team culture
• Supervise assistant coaches and develop, mentor, and disciple coaches throughout the program.
• Monitor athlete academic eligibility and behavior standards
• Ensure compliance with school, district, league, and state athletic regulations.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration.
• Organize offseason conditioning and player development opportunities.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and program inventory.
• Collaborate with Athletic Director in ensuring transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met.

Requirements

• Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
• Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
• Knowledge of high school softball rules, strategy, and player development.
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level and/or collegiate playing experience.
• Previous youth discipleship experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student athletes.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Spiritual Qualifications:

• Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture (John 14:1-27; Ephesians 2:8-22) and accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Cole Valley Christian Schools.
• Have a history of faithfully attending and financially supporting a Bible believing church. 
• Have a verifiable history of living and modeling Christian character in employee's personal and professional life, serving as a Christian role model first to family and friends and then to students, parents, and fellow faculty and staff members in regard to personal judgment, dignity, and Christian living. This is expressed in such passages as Ephesians 5:21-23; Colossians 3:12-17; and 2 Peter 1:1-10. Individual's life in Christ must continue to be faithfully pursued in and out of the workplace as a condition of continuing in this ministry position.
• Willing to submit to the authority of those who have oversight of the school (1 Peter 2, 9-20), and to fully cooperate with these authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board in both letter and intent.
• Strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love, and nurture the students entrusted to employee for instruction, supervision, and/or oversight, and must provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.

Job Data:

• Hours: 20-25 hours per week during the season. Off season hours vary.
• Salary: $3,900
• Tuition Discount: 25% discount on tuition. Does not include fees.
