Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Slough to assist with the appointment of a Triage/Housing Options Officer, on a 6.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.14 - £23.76 per hour
Summary:
We're looking for an experienced Triage / Housing Options Officer to join the Housing team. In this role, you'll provide initial homelessness assessments, housing advice, and legal decisions in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act, helping customers access the right support while ensuring compliance with housing legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out initial homelessness and housing options assessments.
- Provide housing advice and issue written legal decisions.
- Assess cases under the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) and Part VII Housing Act.
- Refer complex cases to Duty Officers where appropriate.
- Deliver excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with housing legislation.
Essentials:
- Previous experience working in homelessness or housing advice within a Local Authority.
- Strong knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act (HRA) and Part VII Housing Act.
- Experience carrying out homelessness assessments and issuing legal decisions.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and empathy skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and make sound, legally compliant decisions.

- This role requires a Basic DBS
