Job Overview
Legacy Supply Chain is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to support our new distribution center located in Greenfield, IN. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and measuring automotive parts to ensure compliance with quality specifications outlined in engineering drawings. The Quality Control Inspector will utilize a variety of precision measurement tools to accurately document inspection results and generate detailed problem statements for any non-conforming products. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match!
Schedule and Compensation
- 1st Shift: Monday through Friday – 6:00am to 2:30pm
- Starting pay rate $30.00 per hour
- Paid weekly
Job Details
What to expect as a Quality Control Inspector:
- Inspect and validate parts with precision tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure strict adherence to engineering specifications, driving fast, high-quality production outcomes.
- Document and track inspection results in the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring accurate and accessible data for cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and management) to make informed, timely decisions.
- Identify and record Non-Conformances with clear, actionable detail, enabling efficient Non-Conformance Report (NCR) generation and swift corrective action with suppliers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate inspection results and ensure timely transfer of products to appropriate stages of production, minimizing delays and ensuring continuous workflow.
- Adhere to safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe, compliant work environment, mitigating risks and ensuring the well-being of the team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality investigations, driving operational efficiency, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards.
- Proactively seek opportunities to streamline work processes, improve efficiency, and enhance quality, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Support all Quality departments as needed, providing expertise and assistance to ensure seamless and effective quality assurance across functions.
- Assist with Packaging Quality Inspections when required, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards before shipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a results-oriented approach to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with a high focus on accuracy and accountability.
- Ability to read and interpret part blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience using a Quality Management System (QMS) to complete quality inspections (Intelex will be the system used).
- Ability to operate precision measurement tools, including rulers, calipers, torque wrenches, thread gauges, wrenches, grease guns, and vise grips.
- Primary material handling equipment (MHE) used will be carts and pallet jacks.
- Must be able to safely lift and manipulate products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- A technical or automotive background is strongly preferred, as the 13-Point Inspection process evaluates the fit, form, and function of automotive parts.
- Initial training will take place in Canada and is expected to last approximately 2–3 weeks. Candidates will need a valid passport for travel.
