Description
Flowserve is looking for a Dynamc and Proactive Sales Engineer to join our team in Texas. In to help this dual-impact role, you will manage an established portfolio of OEM accounts across the Houston region while driving strategic project influence with major EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors. You will serve as the technical authority on mechanical seal applications and pump systems, ensuring Flowserve products are specified on major global project data sheets.
Key Responsibilities
OEM Account Management: Maintain and expand sales within established OEM accounts in the greater Houston area, targeting an annual territory revenue goal of $1.5M – $2.0M.
EPC Project Coverage: Partner with leading EPC firms during front-end engineering design phases to get Flowserve specified as the primary or preferred technical solution on project data sheets.
Technical Solution Selling: Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, and specification reviews covering mechanical seals, API pump packages, and rotating equipment systems.
Global Alignment: Collaborate with global sales, engineering, and aftermarket teams on high-value capital projects hosted out of Houston.
Travel: Attend domestic customer sites and occasional international quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and project summits.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience Level: Senior-level experience (3+ years preferred) in technical sales or applications engineering within the rotating equipment industry.
Product Knowledge: Deep technical expertise in Mechanical Seals (API 682 standards) is highly preferred. Strong background in industrial centrifugal pumps (API 610) or turbomachinery will also be considered.
EPC & OEM Familiarity: Proven track record of influencing EPC specifications and managing industrial OEM relationships in Texas/Gulf Coast markets.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical industry experience).
