Job Purpose
ICE Mortgage Technology is the leading cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry. ICE Mortgage Technology solutions enable lenders to originate more loans, reduce origination costs, and reduce the time to close, all while ensuring the highest levels of compliance, quality, and efficiency.
A Principal Business Analyst should possess an expert-level knowledge of US mortgage documents and data structures, applying that knowledge to drive strategic analysis and deliver impactful solutions. The role requires exceptional communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Review and deliver test results as per business requirements and apply root cause analysis on defects and incidents after each release.
- Create comprehensive test cases and identify defects and quality gaps in final deliverables prior to release.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of complex business processes and systems within the specialized domain, and document findings with accuracy.
- Provide strategic expert advice and data-driven recommendations on business solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Participate in scrum events and collaborate with DevOps, QA, Engineering, and Product teams to understand scope planning, requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Perform Gap Analysis, Release Planning, and implement Process Improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and delivery quality.
- Analyze and document Jira stories, defects, and epics with detailed findings, ensuring traceability and clarity throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Maintain and continuously update data documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the project and post-release phases.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification.
- 6+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or equivalent, with a demonstrated track record in a specialized domain.
- Expert knowledge of US Mortgage industry, mortgage document and data structures for financial and legal documents.
- Sound knowledge of MS Excel and experience performing analysis of complex data and excel reports.
- Advanced data synthesis, problem-solving, and the ability to evaluate complex, ambiguous data to make informed decisions
- Sound knowledge of XML, JSON, and API Testing, as well as programming logic applied in data and document analysis workflows.
- Mentors, coaches, and provides work direction for Senior Analysts or others assigned to carry out analyst activities.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Advanced analytical skills with proven experience in Agile development methodology and specialized domain delivery.
- Excellent communication skills; must read, speak, and write English fluently and present to diverse audiences including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence decisions at multiple levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, high accuracy with data, and meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and handle large data sets to define project roadmaps and assess overall risk and scope impact.
- Knowledge of business analytics tools and proficiency in identifying and implementing process improvements within complex delivery environments.
- Experience in scope commitment analysis, drafting and refining epics, and elaborating them into actionable user stories.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams across different geographies and time zones.
- Strong critical thinking and expert problem-solving skills; a proven ability to develop, initiate, and independently drive innovative solutions across complex workstreams.
