Centre of AI in Medicine is a university-level research centre with the mission to bridge the gap between cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and practical applications in healthcare, The key objective is to spearheadresearch and development to revolutionise patient care and inform public health policies.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to play a central role in galvanising and advancing the Centre’s efforts in research collaboration and grant applications. The Postdoctoral Fellow will provide critical leadership and support across C-AIM’s portfolio of AIML projects strategic planning, grant writing, review of research agreements, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Centre’s flagship projects.

The role will focus on:

  • Developing strategic plans to advance research capability of the Centre:

    Formulate and implement short-, medium-, and long-term research strategies that strengthen the Centre’s research capacity, competitiveness, and impact.

    Monitor research performance indicators and recommend initiatives to enhance research productivity, quality, and sustainability.

  • Building and extending research collaboration efforts with key partners within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment

    Cultivate and strengthen strategic partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare organisations, industry partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

    Initiate, coordinate, and manage collaborative research projects that leverage expertise across multiple disciplines and sectors.

    Identify opportunities for national and international collaborations that enhance the Centre’s research profile and expand its research ecosystem.

  • Designing and conducting research aligned with the Centre’s research pillars, including literature reviews, data collection, and data analysis.

    Lead the conceptualisation, design, and execution of research studies that align with the Centre’s strategic research themes and priorities.

    Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and environmental scans to identify evidence gaps, inform study design, and support the development of research proposals.

    Develop robust research methodologies, protocols, and data collection instruments using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches as appropriate.

    Oversee data collection activities, ensuring compliance with ethical, regulatory, and institutional requirements.

    Perform rigorous data management, statistical analysis, and interpretation of findings using appropriate analytical tools and methodologies.

    Prepare research reports, policy briefs, presentations, and manuscripts that effectively communicate findings to academic, professional, and stakeholder audiences.

  • Advancing Centre’s performance in publications and grant applications

    Drive the development and submission of high-quality grant proposals to secure competitive research funding from local and international funding bodies.

    Identify funding opportunities and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in the preparation of grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.

    Lead and contribute to the publication of research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.

Required educational qualification, experience, skills and competencies:

  • PhD graduates, in medical AI, healthcare informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, AI implementation science, or related disciplines,

  • Have graduated within four years from their respective PhD programs at the time of application.

  • Received at least two years of graduate training (including the PhD duration)

  • Demonstratable familiarity in ideally two or more of the following disciplines: biomedical informatics, clinical research, medicine, public health, implementation science and data science

  • Excellent track record of research accomplishments

  • Keen to embark on exciting and innovative projects involving the development of medical AI technologies, working with stakeholders in education and implementation, healthcare AI governance and regulation, and other topics pertaining to the successful deployment of AI into healthcare systems, especially in Singapore.
