The City of Pasadena is seeking a proactive, safety-focused, dependable, and energetic Maintenance Worker II to perform semi-skilled maintenance work in the Municipal Assistance, Solutions, and Hiring (MASH) Division of the Housing Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a hard-working, flexible, and dependable individual. The current vacancy is in the Municipal Assistance, Solutions, and Hiring (MASH) Division, which provides general maintenance services such as general carpentry, light construction, and landscaping throughout the City of Pasadena. In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of projects that support Pasadena residents and City departments.The major responsibilities of this position are listed below. For more detailed information, please review the complete job description for Maintenance Worker II.- Performs general maintenance work including light carpentry, painting and abandoned item cleanup.
- Demonstrates proper tool and equipment use while modeling professional workplace conduct for trainees.
- Uses heavy and light power tools to perform a variety of maintenance and landscaping duties.
- Operates City vehicles and pneumatic power tools such as pressure washers, paint sprayers, riding mowers, and related heavy equipment.
- Observes safety rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- (1) One year of full-time professional maintenance and construction experience in at least two of the following functions: painting, carpentry, landscaping, general labor, etc.
- Class B Driver’s license is preferred.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process may consist of a training and experience evaluation, written test, interview panel, and/or department-level interviews/practical exam.

This is a limited-term position with current funding through June 30, 2027. Continued employment beyond that date is dependent upon the availability of ongoing funding.
The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment may be used to fill this vacancy and similar vacancies in the future.
Candidates selected for this position are subject to a one-year probationary work period.
Incumbents in this classification will be rotated amongst the various MASH Division maintenance operations.
Must have a Class C California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
