Description
SUMMARY: The Assistant Accountant maintains and reconciles bank accounts, issues customer invoices, and processes supplier invoices and payments, while keeping accurate financial records and journal entries. This role supports month-end and year-end closing, ensures compliance with accounting policies and tax regulations, and assists with audit documentation as part of the broader finance team. Follows company safety policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain, update and reconcile bank accounts and bank statements.
- Issue customer invoices and upload the invoices to the customer portal sites.
- Handle data entry, maintain accurate financial records, and document all company financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions and ensure the general ledger remains accurate.
- Process invoices, manage vendor payments.
- Support the closing processes for both month-end and year-end financial statements.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and financial regulations and tax laws.
- Provide documentation and assistance to internal and external auditors.
- Work with senior accountants and other members of the finance team on various tasks and projects

- Show proficiency in Excel and financial software used in the department.
- Comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely in English
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Understanding of Saudi invoicing and tax regulations.
- Awareness of IFRS and local statutory accounting standards.
- Professional certification in progress or completed (CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with issue and processing the invoices and supporting month-end closing process is an advantage.
