About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The ideal candidate will be UK-trained, board-certified, and fluent in Arabic, with strong expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of psychiatric disorders.This role involves working within a multidisciplinary mental health team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis, and personality disordersProvide psychiatric evaluations, risk assessments, and ongoing treatment planningManage both acute psychiatric presentations and long-term mental health conditionsPrescribe and monitor psychotropic medications safely and effectivelyDeliver inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric careCollaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionalsProvide psychotherapy and supportive counseling when appropriateParticipate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planningEnsure compliance with ethical, legal, and clinical standards in psychiatric practiceContribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiativesProvide supervision and training to junior doctors and mental health staffPromote mental health awareness and patient education initiativesRequirementsMedical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institutionBoard Certification in Psychiatry (mandatory)Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Consultant PsychiatristUK CCT / MRCPsych or equivalent Western training strongly preferredFluency in Arabic and English (mandatory/preferable depending on patient population)Strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric careExcellent clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to manage complex and high-risk psychiatric casesStrong understanding of cultural sensitivity in mental health careEligibility for UAE medical licensing (MOHAP for Sharjah)What We OfferCompetitive tax-free salary packageHousing and relocation support (depending on employer)Modern mental health facilities and multidisciplinary teamsMulticultural working environmentOpportunities for continuous professional developmentStrong clinical governance and supportive leadership structure
